I’m a professional indexer, editor and writer based in western Massachusetts. Areas of specialty include: rhetoric and composition, history, law, religion and spirituality, biography, environmentalism and regional texts (including travel, natural and cultural history, guide books etc.), especially New England.
I hold an English Degree from Saint Michael’s College, a Juris Doctor from western New England University, and a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from Goddard College. A lot of learning over the years, which has led to varied work: journalist, lawyer, stay-at-home Dad moonlighting as a freelance writer, freelance writer moonlighting as a folk singer, college professor, political hack and so forth.
These days I work primarily as a full-time freelance indexer. Indexing neatly binds my interests in reading, organization, logic and accessibility. I still write from time to time, and from time to time also teach in the English and Communication departments at Holyoke Community College.
My lovely family – with the help of not a few friends and gifted tradespeople – are building out a 25-acre homestead in western Massachusetts. We raise and grow most of our own food, cut most of our own wood, tend to chickens, ducks, horses and bees, and share space with the boundless wildlife always coming and going.
If I can help you with a writing or publishing project, please feel free to get in touch.
